Photo Edit 3 — Beautiful Inside, Ugly Outside

Jordan here in this video we're gonna do another photo editing session of a property So let's go ahead and get into the property now on this one What I've done so far is all the preliminary steps right we ran the ARWs through DNG converter After that we imported them into Lightroom then we applied the pre-HCR preset on the interior photos we then stacked them into stacks of three by capture time and then we ran the HDR merge function and

Move this real quick the HDR merge function and And then I what I have done so far right now. So they're in the quick collection I applied the exterior presets on the exterior photos and I applied the interior or the the post HDR preset on the interior photos so now Now we're just gonna get started on the regular edit. So first things first we're gonna I'm gonna increase the size of the thumbnails and then we're just gonna go through and

Remove the photos that we don't want these two are very similar. I'm just gonna go with the second one So I'm gonna hit be on that one remove it these two as well are very similar, but I Think you see a little bit better to the house in

This one sorry this wider shot even though the cars are so I'm gonna leave them both I'm not a huge fan of how the colors turn out on that But I'm gonna leave it just to see if I can make it look alright and then on the entry shot so we have a wall and

really there's not Much value in this shot. So I'm just gonna stick with the corner shots here And I think that looks good. Then we go over to the kitchen And let's see what we got here in the kitchen

All right, those shots look good And we have the bathroom the bedroom the secondary bedrooms and then we have two pictures I'm gonna keep both of these the both these pictures of the line room because one shows the exit to the carport And then this is a carport shot as well. Then we have some exterior photos We showed the shed You know some of these photos the agent likely won't include on the listing

But anyways at the end we grabbed a couple additional angles of the kitchen So I'm gonna go ahead and move those photos actually these are very similar. I like the second one better So I'm gonna get rid of that one All right now we're gonna go through one by one and just fine-tune these images All right, so let's do that. So let's go to develop tab here and Here we can see how low the Sun is it's making like a hazy look to it So I'm gonna try I'm gonna use D.H. to try to cut through that a little bit. I don't want to use it too much We could add some contrast It seems like the high since the house is white I'm trying to see if the highlights or the shadows Because you can see like these dark spots on the house

Let me try to adjust blacks and whites and see if we can Get rid of that. I don't think we're gonna get rid of it completely So I'm just gonna stick with this. Let me let me adjust luminance though in the sky see if we can bring whoops That's like Hugh. What am I on? Think I was on Hugh actually all right luminance

So now right now as I as they drop the luminance you can see that there is blue on the front of the house as well so we don't want to Mess with that too much So what what actually what I'm gonna do here is I think that the luminance is What's causing some of that look here and we have a sky right here? Here's another tool you can use you can use this gradient tool and What I'm gonna do I'm not gonna adjust exposure. We're gonna do temperature and we're gonna make it cooler So if we just want a cooler sky Then let's do Let's see I Mean that adds a little bit of Blue I don't want it to hit the house So just giving it a little bit blue. Let me look at the library just to see how it looks I'm not not a big fan of it So what I'm gonna do let me see if I go back to this tool. I'm just gonna remove it and What we'll do is a quick sky replacement on it, but let me go through the rest of these Here in the front I'm more I'm just gonna stay focused on The house itself. It looks very desaturated right now. Let me see There's not too much color. Let me try to make an adjustment Vibrance saturation All right, let's add that de-haze if we can get a little bit more Look now since we're gonna do a sky replacement. I'm not gonna worry so much about Blowing out the sky just more focused on the house Now this angle away from the Sun looks a lot more natural looks a lot better

So I'm I feel pretty happy, you know, I'm pretty happy with how that picture turned out and Then we'll just copy that and bring it in here So those two look pretty good. It's these two first ones that

Don't look very good. So let's edit in Photoshop We'll do a quick sky replacement on those first two and we're just gonna try to make it look like the other photos that we have Which is just a regular blue sky So let's go to edit sky replacement and we'll just pick a solid blue sky here Let's try this one. All right that one looks all right Let me go back in it. I wanted to reduce the lighting adjustment on the house All right, so that's pretty good. So now I'm gonna hit be on the original one Keep the sky replaced one and Now we'll edit this one in Photoshop to adjust the lighting down here on the house Just a personal preference and then we'll save that And keep going I the thing is with I'm not a huge fan of how it boosted. All right, so let me get rid of this one

you know how How you can see so much in the shadows right there if I reduce shadows does that do anything we can use the brush real quick and reduce the shadows in that area and Let's see That looks a little bit better. It's not perfect

I Like these ones much better, but we're just gonna work with what we got All right, so let's get rid of that brush and go back to these settings try to make it a little bit brighter I got one lit tripod leg in the reflection. I'm not too worried about it So I'm just gonna keep going And this could probably be a little warmer

You can also try to set white balance on the baseboard That's too warm in my opinion or the face plate on that which is Pretty dang warm. So I'll leave it like that

It was more of a gray tone style white with Some wood looking flooring so I think a little bit of warmth goes a long way here now in the kitchen It probably looks a little bit too warm and try to reduce the exposure down and

Reduce the shadows. This is one thing I like to reduce the shadows when they When the kitchen cabinets are dark colors because when you boo shadows so much it starts to look unnatural So we'll keep these settings for the kitchen shots Keep those cabinets

Not overly exposed One of these shots. I'll show you a before and after I was way off on my My angle so you can see the before and after here. Let me go you can see how crooked Look at this shot right here. You just see how crooked that was and Then you can see the after how the the adjustment

Definitely made a big impact on it. So you don't your angles don't have to be perfect. They have to be pretty good You can't be completely off and All right, so let's go ahead and keep pasting. We reduce the shadows. I'm gonna bring the exposure back up on this one This one looks pretty good to me. Let me just reduce exposure a little bit

Let me copy this to see what we got going next All right, so this is the bathroom. Let me increase and then we'll set white balance on the toilet

Here we'll set white balance. Let's try here. It does look a little bit. Actually that looks pretty good Maybe just a little more warm All right now I'm gonna copy My settings and And on to the next this actually looks good as is I'm not gonna make any adjustments That looks good that looks good as well

That one looks good, too. I would say if anything they look a little too cool in this room Let me just add a little bit of warmth adjust the The color temp slightly both of those and then this is it this is more of an exterior shot of the carport So Let me warm it up That looks better Now we're outside. All right, so I'm not gonna paste those settings. I'm just gonna kind of just make some minor adjustments here Think that looks all right. You didn't need that there. That looks pretty good

It looks all right Now I'm not gonna worry about removing that ladder like big things like that is a lot of work because you got a shadow and a whole bunch of lines all over the place, especially when a house is more a Trash like this, you know the backyard could have used of probably a whole half day of cleanup, but

It was not clean. So all right, so we've gone through all the photos now I'm just gonna hit the library real quick just to make sure I like the order of my photos So we have all the exteriors we got London room the carport last laundry room carport and Main areas first then kitchen

Bedrooms and then backyard so from here what we're gonna do is just select all and then export We can just leave the resize to 2048. They should already be at 2048 from our DNG converter settings And I'm gonna choose a new folder We're just gonna put it in 11 and then New folder will call it finished and choose that and then we'll just call this one Mesa and leave it at 80%

Everything should be correct. So let me export And then what I'm gonna do is just check with the finder And we'll go in here to our finished folder and just make sure that their exported file size is appropriate And they should be at around one megabyte or less. These ones seem a little smaller than normal
