What Makes a Photogenic Listing

Hi my name is Jordan Nelson. I'm the owner and CEO of Lister Pros. We know that the majority of buyers are getting their first impressions of properties online. With that in mind, we know that first impressions are very important, so here are some tips to help get your property photo ready. So the initial impression to potential buyers online is oftentimes the front of the property. We recommend moving vehicles from the driveway inside the garage or across the street so they're not visible in that front shot. You'll also want to hide items that are laying around that includes water hoses, toys, garbage cans, and other things that may be

visible for that first impression. Also make sure the landscaping is nice and tidy that the lawn is mowed. Weeds are removed and that the trees and bushes are nice and trim. Now let's move into the interior. The first thing we recommend doing on the interior of the property is depersonalizing by removing photos and personal items. Remember that you're trying to create a generic yet stylish space that the potential buyer can see themselves living in. All surfaces must be clean and furniture neatly arranged. Also when we take pictures of your home we will open up all the blinds so be sure that the windows are nice and clean as well. Now on to the kitchen.

The kitchen is by far one of the most important rooms of the home so you want to make sure you spend a little extra time and energy in that room to make sure it's presentable. Your counter should be clean and completely free of clutter in order to maximize counter space. All extra items including appliances and pictures and magnets on the fridge should be removed. And now on to the bedrooms. All beds should be neatly made, floors cleared, and personal items not visible. Also make sure that your closets are nicely organized. In the bathroom you want to make sure that the shower curtains and towels are presentable. You'll also want to remove trash cans and toilet

cleaning supplies that may be visible in the pictures. And finally the backyard. Just like the front yard you want to make sure that any personal items, children's toys, hoses should be put away and not visible. If you have a grill it should be cleaned or covered. If there's a pool in the backyard make sure it is clean and if possible remove the pool vacuum. Potential buyers need to be able to see themselves relaxing in the backyard. Once you are done you'll want to walk around the entire property and ask yourself is everything I see what I want potential buyers to see. Do your best to put yourself in the buyer's shoes and if there's something you don't like make the

proper adjustments. Taking the time to prepare the home can literally be the difference between selling and not selling the property. Lastly we ask that the home be photo ready when our photographer arrives. We look forward to helping you get your home sold.
