154 - Adding Fire To Fire Places

In this video, I'm going to walk you through how to add a little bit of extra warmth and coziness to your home photos by adding fire to fireplaces. We'll be working with a few random photos that we've edited in the past that don't currently have fires in the fireplace. The first step is to select a fire image that will fit the look and feel of the photo. Once we have our fire selected, we'll open up the photo in Photoshop and drop the fire on top of the image. We'll resize the fire to be slightly smaller than the fireplace and position it accordingly. Next, we'll change the blend mode of the fire layer to Screen, which will allow the black background of the fire to become transparent and blend in with the photo. We repeat this process for each photo and adjust the size and position of the fire to ensure that it looks as natural as possible. For photos that already have logs in the fireplace, we can use the Clone Stamp tool to remove them and create a more natural-looking fire. Overall, this is a quick and easy way to add a little bit of extra warmth and ambiance to your home photos.
