64 - Editing Session - Job Shadow #1 - Gold Canyon
In this video, I'm going to take you through the process of editing a walkthrough video from start to finish. So let's get started. I'm going to create a new library and project, even though I usually don't create new libraries for every video. I'm going to call this library "Walkthrough 1" and the project "Walkthrough Video 1". The video was shot in 4K, but since it's usually overkill, I'm going to edit in 1080p at 24 frames per second.
Next, I'll import all the clips from the shoot and drag them onto the timeline in the order they were shot. I'll adjust the color space to Rec. 2020 since we shot in HL G, and turn off the audio by reducing it all the way to negative infinity and pasting it onto all the clips.
Now, I'll scrub through the footage to see what I have to work with and eliminate any unused clips. I'm aiming for a 2-3 second duration for each clip, and I'm focusing on the interior shots of the house since that's what the customer requested.
Once I've narrowed down the clips I want to use, I'll start trimming them and fine-tuning their duration. I'll adjust the speed if necessary, either by blade speeding or slowing it down. I'll also add transitions like fade to black or cross dissolve where needed.
As I go through the footage, I'll make adjustments to the shots to make them smoother and more appealing. For example, I might remove a shot or add a transition to make the video flow better.
Overall, editing a video requires a lot of patience and attention to detail, but it's worth it in the end when you have a beautiful, polished final product.
