153 - Editing Session - Job Shadow #5 - Scottsdale (Twilight)
Hey there, in this video, I'm going to be taking you through a twilight luxury photo editing session. It's always exciting to see how the photos turn out during this time of day, so let's get started.
First things first, I copy the raw photos from the Sony camera to a specific folder. The images are 60 megapixels, but for this customer's needs, I plan to shrink them down to 20 megapixels using Adobe DNG converter. This will speed up the editing process while still providing high-quality images. I create a new folder for the DNG files on my Desktop and let the converter do its job.
Once the conversion is complete, I import the images into Lightroom, selecting only the ones I plan to edit. As I go through each photo, I look for the best shot that showcases the home during this time of day. I want to make sure the ambient and flash exposures are blended well and any unwanted reflections are removed.
I'm selective about which photos I choose to edit, focusing on the ones that add value or show something unique about the property during twilight. I always try to keep a uniform look to the photos, copying and pasting settings as needed.
During the editing process, I make adjustments to exposure, shadows, and highlights to make the photos look their best. I may use Lightroom's cloning tool to remove unwanted objects or shadows, and sometimes I need to use Photoshop for more detailed edits.
One thing I notice during this session is the impact of different lighting temperatures, especially between interior and exterior shots. I make adjustments using Lightroom's temp brush to create a more consistent look throughout the photos.
Overall, it's a fun and rewarding process to see the final product come together. I strive to make sure the customer is happy with the finished product and that the photos showcase the property in the best possible light.
