151 - Editing Session - Job Shadow #3- Paradise Valley (Twilight)

Hey everyone, it's Jordan here. In this video, I'm going to walk you through a twilight luxury editing session that I recently did for a beautiful home. So, let's get started. We had already edited the daytime shots of this particular home, but we also did some nighttime shots as well. I began by taking the 16 megapixel AR W files, putting them through a dng converter and shrinking them down to 20 megapixels. This is about as big as our customers need, unless they request ultra high resolution images. I then imported them into Lightroom and had it build one by one, full-size previews. We had a total of 65 images for this particular home, but since we had already edited the main areas that were staged during the day, we only had to go back and shoot the areas that we missed. I began by adding all the images to the quick collection by pressing Command A and then hitting B. Next, I went through each image and picked out the ones that I liked the best. I preferred the ones with good window lighting and no hotspots or reflections. I deleted the ones that I knew I wouldn't be using and kept the ones that I thought looked the best. Once I had selected the images I wanted to work on, I went into the develop module in Lightroom and began editing the first image. I started by setting the profile to auto and then adjusted the white balance based on something in the room. I played around with the shadows, highlights, and vibrance until I was happy with the final result. I then copied the settings from the first image and pasted them onto the next image. I made a few adjustments based on the lighting and composition of the room, and then continued copying and pasting the settings onto the next images. For some images, I needed to do more extensive editing in Photoshop. For example, if there were any distracting elements in the image, I would use the clone stamp or the healing brush tool to remove them. Once I had made all the necessary edits, I saved the image and moved on to the next one. Overall, this was a great editing session and I was very pleased with the final results. Twilight luxury editing can be a bit tricky, but with the right tools and techniques, it's possible to create stunning images that will really make your clients' homes shine.
