191 - How To Keep A Virtual Teammate Engaged
In this video, I will discuss the importance of keeping a virtual team engaged. As a media business owner, many team members may work remotely or in different locations, so it's crucial to ensure everyone feels connected and is working towards the same goals. We use Workplace by Facebook as our primary communication platform to post critical updates, communicate with our team, and recognize their hard work. I also post an update video every Tuesday to discuss company updates, customer surveys, and highlight our best work of the week.
To provide consistent feedback to our virtual team, we use screen recordings to review their work, give feedback, and recognize their great performance while identifying improvement opportunities. For team members who are not part of our core team, we use Skype as the primary communication platform and regularly give them feedback videos to keep them informed about important updates.
We believe that customer feedback surveys are essential in keeping our team members accountable and identifying areas for improvement. It allows us to quickly identify any team members who may not be practicing our company standards and address them right away. This has led to a significant improvement in our organization's customer experience.
Effective communication is the key to keeping a virtual team engaged. If team members do not feel connected, it can lead to an increase in team member issues. Therefore, it's essential to keep those communication lines open and frequent. As a business owner, it's our responsibility to ensure that our virtual team feels engaged, motivated, and empowered to provide the best customer experience.
