53 - How To Prep A Home for Video

When it comes to shooting a successful walkthrough video of a home, prepping the space beforehand is crucial. We're going to go over the key steps to take before starting to shoot. The first step is to ensure that the front yard of the property is clear and ready for filming. This includes removing any signs, trash cans, water hoses, and cars from the front of the property. You want the front of the home to look clean and inviting for potential buyers. Next, do a quick walkthrough of the interior of the home. Turn on all the lights, ceiling fans, and open all the blinds. This will ensure that each room is well-lit and looks its best on camera. We also recommend keeping the ceiling fans on the lowest setting to add some movement to the video. Once the lighting is set up, make sure that every room looks presentable. Tidy up any clothes, put down toilet seats, remove plungers and soaps, and hide any pet balls or toys. You want the space to look as clean and clutter-free as possible. After that, be sure any special features that the home may have are turned on. This includes fireplaces, pools, water fountains, and any other special features that the property may have. It's also important to communicate with the homeowner or agent about any particular areas they want you to focus on or to avoid. There may be some rooms or spaces that the homeowner or agent does not want included in the video, so it's important to clarify this beforehand. By following these simple steps, you can ensure that the space is prepped and ready for a successful walkthrough video. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to us.
