28 - 6 Steps Before Editing

I want to share with you the six steps that we take before we even start editing our real estate images. These preliminary steps are crucial to ensuring that our editing process runs smoothly and efficiently. So let's get started. Step one: Copy your images to your computer from your SD card. This step might seem like a no-brainer, but it's important to make sure that you have all of your images safely stored on your computer before you start editing them. Step two: Reduce those image sizes in DNG Converter. This step has been a game-changer for us here at ListerPros. Adobe DNG Converter is a tool that allows us to reduce the image sizes of our RAW files before we even import them into Lightroom. This not only speeds up our workflow but also allows us to upload our images faster from a tethered cell phone to our editors. Step three: Import those DNG files into Lightroom. Once you have your images safely stored on your computer and have reduced the file sizes, it's time to import them into Lightroom. Step four: Stack those images. Stacking images in Lightroom helps keep your library organized and makes it easier to find the images you need. Step five: Create HDR images using HDR Merge. HDR (High Dynamic Range) images are created by merging multiple exposures of the same scene. This process allows us to capture more detail in both the highlights and shadows of our images. Step six: Add those HDR images to Quick Collection and start editing. Finally, once you have your HDR images, you can add them to Quick Collection in Lightroom and begin editing. Out of all these six steps, step number two has been the biggest game-changer for us. It has allowed us to streamline our workflow and make our editing process much faster. We highly recommend giving Adobe DNG Converter a try if you haven't already. In conclusion, these preliminary steps are essential to ensuring a smooth and efficient editing process. By following these steps, you can save time, stay organized, and produce professional-looking real estate images. If you have any questions about these steps, feel free to reach out to us.
