As a photographer, there are always new challenges to be faced when it comes to photo editing. In this particular photo editing session, I was tasked with working on a twilight session, which presented its own unique set of challenges.
The first step in the process was to put our images through the dng converter and import them into our editing software. We then applied the pre-HDR merge preset to the interiors before stacking them and running them through HDR merge.
At this point, we had 162 images to work with, which is a bit excessive. Our goal was to reduce this number while still selecting the best possible shots. We started by going through the images and eliminating duplicates and any shots that were out of focus or otherwise unusable.
One thing that made this shoot easier was the fact that the lighting throughout the house was very consistent. This made it much easier to edit the photos quickly and efficiently.
As we worked through the images, we focused on making sure that the white balance was consistent and that the photos were bright and vibrant. We also made sure to eliminate any distracting elements in the shots, such as backhoes and other equipment that may have been present.
One of the challenges of working on a twilight session is that the lighting changes quickly as the sun sets, which can result in significant differences in the color and quality of the light in the photos. We had to be mindful of this as we worked and adjust our settings accordingly.
Overall, I was pleased with the final set of images that we delivered to the client. While there were certainly some challenges along the way, I feel that we were able to overcome them and deliver a high-quality set of photos that showcased the property in the best possible light.
